It can be challenging for general education teacher to understand the unique academic and linguistic needs of English Learners. This interactive presentation demonstrates a self-assessment rubric used to provide teachers with a conceptual framework using simplification, accommodation, differentiation, and integration of language acquisition strategies into lesson plans to promote higher-order thinking skills. Participants will gain insight into the design for and use of the this tool with teachers.
